The YAXI service is for groups of young people aged between 12 and 17 years who need help with transport in the Ballina Shire. YAXI trips are unsupervised. The volunteer drivers are there to pick you up and drop you off. This service is drug and alcohol free. Any uncool behaviour will result in the person being dropped at the nearest police station.

Byron Area Travel (BAT)

The BAT service is for groups of young people aged between 12-25 in the Byron Shire, who need help with transport. Buses are wheelchair accessible. The buses are drug and alcohol free zones.

The YOWI service is for groups of young people aged between 12 and 25 years who need help with transport in the Lismore City Council area. YOWI can get you and your friends to all sorts of places - the movies, beaches, theme parks, festivals etc. The volunteer driver will pick you up and drop you off. This service is drug and alcohol free. The cost depends on where you are going and how many people are with you. YOWI tries to make transport affordable.

Approximate Costs:

  • Lismore to theme Parks - $14 return
  • Nimbin to Lismore - $4 return
  • The Channon to the Gold Coast - $12 return
  • Dunoon to Brisbane - $18 return
